Zauralskaya CHPP is 15 years old

In March 2004, the first large generation facility in the Bashkir Trans-Urals was commissioned. It was a landmark event for the power system of Bashkortostan.During the years of general industrialization throughout the country, CHP plants were built in a "pegging" to oil refineries and petrochemical complexes, consuming in large quantities not only electricity, but also process steam. For this reason, also in Bashkortostan, the main generating facilities lined up from north to south almost along the same line, and the Trans-Urals did not fall into the map of the placement of power capacities.
The combined heat and power plant, built in 2002–2004 in the city of Sibai, embodied the technologies of the 21st century and solved the problem of energy deficit in this region. At first, the Zauralskaya CHPP was equipped with ten gas-reciprocating units manufactured by the Austrian company Jenbacher with a total electrical capacity of 27.3 MW and a heat capacity of 22.2 Gcal / h.
In 2009-2011, the CHPP was expanded: a boiler shop with two water-heating boilers was built, and then three more back-up boilers were installed. The crown of the expansion project was the start-up of the GTPP-16PA gas turbine power plant with a waste-heat boiler. New capacities amounted to 16 MW of electricity and 95.54 Gcal / h of heat. As the main fuel there is used natural gas, reserve fuel is severin.
GTPP-16PA was developed by JSC UEC-Aviadvigatel; the power plant operates in combined energy generation mode. The design is based on the GTE-16PA gas turbine with the PS-90EU-16A engine made based on the gas generator of the high-performance aircraft engine PS-90A2.
Feeding of fuel gas with the design parameters on purity, temperature, pressure and flow rate to the turbine is provided by the booster compressor unit supplied by ENERGAS. The packaged BCU has a container version and is equipped with all necessary life support and safety systems. The unit operates in an automatic mode; monitoring and control are carried out from the central panel of the GTPP.

Subsequently, the additionally introduced capacities received the status of a separate division of the Zauralskaya CHPP - GTPP Sibai.
Today, the easternmost branch of the Bashkir Generation Company (BGC LLC) is the main source of electricity for the Bashkir Trans-Urals and heat for Sibai. Over 15 years of operation, the plant generated 2.4 billion kWh of electricity and released more than 3.4 million Gcal of heat to consumers. The total electric capacity of the Zauralskaya CHPP and Sibai GTPP is 33.44 MW; the heat capacity is 124 Gcal / h.
REFERENCE. Bashkir Generation Company is one of the largest local energy companies of Russia, it owns large production base consisting of one SDPS, ten CHPPs, two large HPPs as well as facilities of small power industry.
