Zauralskaya CHPP enlarged by new gas turbine power plant

1 April 2011

In Sibai (Republic of Bashkortostan) a gas turbine power plant GTPP-16PA with a water-heating waste-heat boiler was commissioned. Here there is also built a new boiler room.

The power unit is included in Zauralskaya CHPP as a separate facility. The installed electric capacity is 16 MW; the thermal capacity is 95.54 Gcal / h. As the main fuel there is used natural gas, reserve fuel is severin.

GTPP-16PA is one of the promising developments of Aviadvigatel OJSC; the power plant is designed for combined power generation. The design is based on the GTE-16PA gas turbine with the PS-90EU-16A engine developed on the basis of the gas generator of the modern high-performance aircraft engine PS-90A2.

The booster compressor unit (BCU) supplied by ENERGAS feeds fuel gas with the design parameters on purity, temperature, pressure and flow rate to the turbine. The packaged BCU has a container version and is equipped with all necessary life support and safety systems: heating, ventilation, lighting, gas detection, fire detection, alarm and fire fighting. The unit operates in an automatic mode; monitoring and control are carried out from the central panel of the GTPP.

The erection supervision and the entire set of operations required to start the BCU were carried out by the engineers of ServicENERGAS LLC (ENERGAS Group).

The project of the Zauralskaya CHPP enlargement increased the power plant's total capacity, allowed increasing the supply of electricity and heat for the city of Sibai and reducing the energy deficit in the Bashkir Trans-Urals. At the same time, it was possible to achieve a low cost of energy, which would ensure a minimum payback period.
