Gas turbine power plant has been commissioned at the site of Belgorod CHPP
30 November 2007
At the site of Belgorod CHPP there was held a solemn ceremony of launching the gas turbine power plant with a nominal capacity of 66 MW. Construction of GT-CHPP was carried out within the framework of the investment program of OJSC "TGC-4".

Upgrade (extension) of the CHPP increased the reliability of the city's energy supply. Due to the efficiency of the cogeneration cycle, the electricity supply increased by 4.7 times and amounted to 413 million kWh per year. This electricity can provide more than 170 thousand apartments.
When implementing the project, the most advanced equipment was used. The new power plant includes two power units, each of which consists of a heat recovery boiler and a LM2500 + DLE HSPT (General Electric) gas turbine unit with a capacity of 34.5 MW.
For the uninterrupted supply of GT-CHPP with fuel, a booster compressor station (BCS) is installed at the facility. It consists of two units in soundproof shelters, which compress natural gas to the design level (3,7 MPa) and feed it to the turbines of power units. The supply of BCS and performing of the entire pre-start operations complex, including erection supervision, commissioning and testing, were carried out by the company ENERGAS.

Belgorodskaya CHPP is located in the city, so its equipment is subjected to the most stringent requirements. GT-CHPP fully complies with Russian and international standards for environmental pollution and noise exposure. Gas turbines are equipped with combustion chambers with dry suppression of emissions (DLE system), which minimizes the entry of harmful substances into the atmosphere - NOx and CO.
GT-CHPP will operate year-round with the coverage of the hot water supply to consumers in central and northern Belgorod in summer and part of the heating load in winter. At the same time, the use of modern gas turbine technologies has made it possible to significantly reduce the specific gas consumption and reduce the cost of energy.
The installed electric capacity of the new plant is 60 MW, the thermal power is 60 Gcal. The thermal capacity of the Belgorod CHPP is 360.4 Gcal / h.
