Compressor station of fuel gas is ready for operation as a part of the test bench of Proton-PM OJSC

20 December 2011

Proton-Perm Motors OJSC, jointly with Aviadvigatel OJSC, expands cooperation in the creation of gas turbine power plants and gas pumping units. For this purpose, a modern complex for testing gas turbine units (GTU) with a capacity of up to 40 MW is being built on the basis of a test ground for rocket and space technology.

Providing tests with fuel gas with required parameters on purity, temperature and pressure will carry out by booster compressor station, which was supplied by the company ENERGAS. BCS is designed for compression gas to a discharge pressure in the range of 1.6...4.5 MPa and fuel feeding to the turbines of GTU in the volume of 2,500 to 11,000 m3 per hour.

Packaged BCS is located on a separate site; it is placed in weatherproof sound-absorbing housing, equipped with life support and safety systems. Capacity (gas flow) of BCS is controlled by a special two-tier regulation system: in the range of 15...100% – by using the spool-type compressor control; in the range of 0...15% – by using bypass line with valves.

Automated control system (ACS) supports the compressor station in operation mode and provides the required operating parameters, including parameters of oil, gas and coolant. ACS is associated with the upper level of APCS of the test bench. Control compartment is placed inside BCS block-module and is separated from the process part by means of gas-tight fire-resistant partition.

Gas treatment equipment was designed according to the special project and corresponds to the working conditions in the Perm Territory. BCS is adapted for operation in conditions of various tests duration and high intensity of starts and shutdowns.

Inside station, there is provided space for fast and comfortable access to all assemblies and elements. It insures possibility for year-round quality performing of service activities.

The whole cycle of works on preparation BCS for operation has been performed by the specialists of ServicENERGAS Company which is part of ENERGAS Group.
