Within commissioning of Sengileevsky Cement Plant, the launch of its own gas turbine power plant took place

In Ulyanovsk region there is commissioned Sengileevsky Cement Plant (part of the holding Eurocement group).

It is one of the most modern enterprises of the cement industry in Russia. Design capacity is 1.843 million tons of cement per year; plant operates on highly efficient and eco-friendly "dry" method.

The new enterprise is equipped with its own power supply complex – autonomous gas turbine power plant of cogeneration cycle. GTPP will provide electrical and thermal power for production capacity of the plant, and the exhaust gas of turbines will be fully used as a drying agent.

As the basis of the GTPP there are two gas turbine units (GTU) SGT-400 manufactured by Siemens Industrial Turbomachinery Ltd. Electrical capacity of each GTU is 12.9 MW, exhaust flow rate is 39.4 kg / s with temperature 573°С. Power generating units are placed in easy-to-assemble building and operate in parallel with the power grid.

Installed capacity of the plant is 25.8 MW; electrical efficiency is 34.8% (ISO). General contractor is a German company KHD Humboldt Wedag. The project was developed by North West Engineering Corporation (St. Petersburg).

It is planned that the electricity generated at GTPP will be significantly cheaper than the market, which will reduce the cost of production.

The fuel for the power plant is natural gas. The compression and feeding of the fuel gas to the turbines under required operating pressure of 2.7 MPa are performed by the booster compressor station (BCS).

BCS is composed of two compressor units (CU) of screw type. Packaged CUs are placed in its own sound-absorbing shelters and are equipped with life support systems and safety systems. Capacity of units is 4,500 m3 / h each.



CUs are equipped with individual ACS and group system of automated control with the function of transmitting data to APCS of upper level, as well as with two-level systems of capacity control.

BCS supply was performed by the company ENERGAS. The phased commissioning, including erection supervision, start-up and adjustment works, individual and integrated tests of equipment, as well as training of the operating staff of customer, has been carried out by the specialists of ServicENERGAS LLC (part of ENERGAS Group).
