In Belgorod, a gas turbine power plant GT CHPP "Luch" has been commissioned

At the end of the integrated tests of power units No. 1 and No. 2, GT CHPP “Luch” with an electric capacity of 60 MW and a thermal capacity of 62.4 Gcal / h was put into pilot-industrial operation. The project was implemented within the framework of the agreement "On cooperation between the Administration of the Belgorod Region and RAO "UES of Russia" in the sphere of reforming and development of the power complex of the Belgorod Region".

The Luch gas turbine power plant is the first investment project in RAO "UES of Russia", implemented entirely at the expense of borrowed funds. The need to build a new station in Belgorod was due to an increase in the growth rate of housing construction. GT CHHP operates in the cogeneration cycle, which involves combined generation of electricity and heat.
When implementing the project, the most advanced equipment was used. Each of the power units includes: a gas turbine unit LM2500 + DLE HSPT (rated capacity 34.5 MW) manufactured by General Electric in a container version with an emission reduction system, a heat recovery boiler with a closed and external circuit, auxiliary equipment. Control of power units is carried out by the APCS.
The construction of the GT CHPP "Luch", carried out in less than 11 months, is the first experience of introducing gas turbine technologies for Belgorod power engineers. With the launch of the plant into commercial operation, generation of electricity by its own sources in Belgorod will reach 60% (previously the regional center received 80% of the consumed electricity from outside). The planned annual output of electric power will be 460 million kWh, thermal energy - 384 thousand Gcal.
For the first time in Russia, the equipment of the Swiss company ENERPROJECT SA was used for the uninterrupted fuel supply for generating capacities - the gas compressor station was installed at the GT CHP plant (in the photo below). Two booster compressor units of EGSI-S-200 / 1250WA type compress natural gas to a working pressure of 3.6 MPa and feed it to the turbines of power units.
