SIBUR Tobolsk: highly efficient off-gas purification equipment has been integrated into the propylene production process
17 February 2020
The off-gas filtration system of ENERGAS has been mounted at the production site of the petrochemical plant SIBUR Tobolsk. It intended for operation as part of the propylene recovery unit (PRU).
According to the process flow scheme, the highly efficient equipment was installed at feeding pipeline before a first compressor stage of PRU. The degree of gas purification is 99,9% for particles larger than 1 microns and droplet liquid. The throughput of the filtration system is identical to the capacity of the PRU and is 1,340 Nm3 / h.
The system of two filters of vertical cartridge type is made on an open frame (with roof from rainfall). Filters for two-stage purification are equipped with pressure differential sensors that signal the contamination of filter elements and, accordingly, increase the degree of protection of the compressors. Control system for equipment was integrated into ACS of propylene recovery unit.

This is first stage of comprehensive reconstruction of the PRU. At the same time, local restoration works, major repair and upgrade of the unit are being carried out as part of the second stage.
The project is conducted by leading engineers of the ServicENERGAS LLC (part of ENERGAS Group) together with specialists of companies SIBUR Tobolsk, Enerproject SA and Borsig MT.
