ServicENERGAS carried out scheduled maintenance of the gas compressor unit No. 2 at Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk CHPP-1

24 February 2026

Routine maintenance works are carried out here under a long-term contract, which runs until the end of 2028.

CHPP-1 is largest energy source and one of the key life support facilities of the Sakhalin. The station supplies electricity to two-thirds of the island, provides heat to largest settlement – the city of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, as well as maintains the sustainability of the power grid of the entire region.

The supply of the 4th and 5th gas-turbine power generating units with fuel with the specified parameters in terms of purity, temperature, pressure and flow rate is carried out by the ENERGAS process system – block-type gas treatment station and gas booster station of five two-stage compressor units (CU).

Comprehensive maintenance of this equipment is performed by the engineers of ServicENERGAS belonging to the ENERGAS Group. Routine works are carried out under a long-term contract – according to the schedule agreed with the customer. Also ServicENERGAS supplies a complete set of required spare parts, components and consumables.

The another one maintenance (under the 4,000-hour maintenance schedule) took place here in February. The gas compressor unit No. 2 underwent maintenance. The following activities were conducted as planned:

- Replacement of consumables (gas and oil filters, oil in the bearings of the motor);
- Diagnostics of the automated control system of CU and adjustment of its parameters;
- Testing of safety systems (gas and fire detection, alarm, fire extinguishing);
- Check the alignment of rotating units (compressor and motor);
- Gaps measure and checking the status of the internal components of the compressor;
- Adjustment and calibration of position sensors and positioning of valves and hydraulic controllers;
- Functional tests of the oil system and cooling system of the compressor unit;
- Verification of operational parameters of the CU and their adjustment;
- Troubleshooting, drafting recommendations on components replacement.

REFERENCE:

The 4th power unit with a capacity of 139.1 MW was put into operation on October 12, 2013. It operates in a cogeneration cycle and provides combined energy generation. GTU-139.1 was created on the basis of three GE gas turbine units of type LM6000 PF Sprint with a capacity of 46.36 MW each and three KUV-50-150 hot-water waste-heat boilers.

The 5th power unit with an electrical capacity of 91.2 MW was put into operation on August 29, 2012. It operates in a simple cycle. The main equipment of GTU-91.2 is two LM6000 PD Sprint gas turbine units with a capacity of 45.58 MW each.
