ENERGAS equipment provides ultrafine purification of gas fuel for the Novopolotsk peak-standby energy source
10 December 2025
A 100 MW gas turbine power plant based on two Siemens SGT-800 turbines operates at the Novopolotsk CHPP. It is one of four peak-standby energy sources (PSES) built for the unified power grid of the Republic of Belarus. The Russian company ENERGAS has equipped the Novopolotsk PSES with an end system of filtration. This equipment is intended to ultrafine purification of gas fuel at the inlet to the shut-off valve block of turbines. ENERGAS system consists of four filters of vertical cartridge type with a throughput of 14,890 Nm3 / h each.
Filtration efficiency is 99.9% for particles larger than 0.01 microns. As a result, the residual content of impurities in purified gas does not exceed 0.001 ppmw (mg / kg). Coalescing filters are equipped with pressure differential sensors that signal the contamination of replaceable elements. The signals are sent directly to the upper level of the APCS.

REFERENCE:
Novopolotsk CHPP is the branch of RUE Vitebskenergo. Its installed capacity is 373 MW. Annual electricity output amounts to 0.6-0.8 billion kWh, and issue of heat ranges from 2.6 to 3 million Gcal.
