Proton-Perm Motors OJSC opens the new capabilities for power engineering
18 July 2013
July 18, 2013 will be included in the annals of the team of Proton-Perm Motors OJSC. On this day, the first in Russia multi-purpose adaptive test bench for gas turbine units (GTU) with a capacity of up to 40 MW is solemnly put into operation.
This is a joint project of Proton-PM and Perm National Research Polytechnic University. The uniqueness of the technology proposed by Perm engineers for testing GTU is confirmed by Federal Service for Intellectual Property.
Test bench is one of the major structural elements of technopolis "Novyi Zvezdnyi" within frames of the innovative direction "Power engineering". GTU tests will carry out here in the interests of the various design offices, pilot plants and factories, specializing in the manufacture of gas turbine units.
Implementation at the bench of new technical solutions allows testing of gas turbine equipment of various modifications. The basis for an objective analysis of the reliability and efficiency of GTU is being created by measurement system that is able to reliably determine the unique number of parameters such as of tested units, and of test bench itself.
According to experts, amount of testing at this test bench can be up to 150 gas turbine unit a year. The main partners of Proton-PM in this sector are Perm Engine Company OJSC and Aviadvigatel OJSC.
The modern fate of the Protonovites takes its roots in the legendary industrial history of the domestic aviation and rocket engine building industry. Today Proton-Perm Motors is a machine-building cluster with a unique set of high technologies and production and design capabilities.
The launch of the new test bench once again proves: the famous team of Perm designers and engineers skillfully respond to the technological challenges of the 21st century and are ready to confidently introduce the latest generation gas turbine units into the production practice of the Russian electric power and oil and gas industry.
REFERENCE. Providing tests with fuel gas with required parameters on purity, temperature and pressure carried out by booster compressor station, which was supplied and commissioned by the company ENERGAS. BCS compresses gas to a discharge pressure in the range of 1.6...4.5 MPa and supplies fuel to the turbines of GTU in the volume of 2,500 to 11,000 m3 per hour.
Gas treatment equipment was designed according to the special project and corresponds to the working conditions in the Perm Territory. BCS is adapted for operation in conditions of various tests duration and high intensity of starts and shutdowns.
