A new combined cycle gas turbine unit CCGT-18.5 at Mogilev CHPP-3 has been brought to full capacity
15 June 2014
Upgrade project for Mogilev CHPP-3 has been completed by installation of the combined cycle gas turbine unit (CCGT unit). The second start-up complex has been commissioned, that allowed to bring CCGT unit to full designed capacity. The new high-efficiency power generating unit is designed for operation in cogeneration mode and integrated into an existing process flow diagram of the former district boiler house.Power generating unit consists of two gas turbine units Siemens SGT-300 with installed capacity of 7.5 MW, steam turbine with capacity of 3.5 MW and two waste-heat boilers with steam capacity of 17.5 ton / h.

Earlier capacity of the facility was 210 Gcal / h without generating electricity. Currently CHPP able to produce 10% more heat and generate electricity. Modern Mogilev CHPP-3 will provide electricity for houses, industrial enterprises, administrative and domestic buildings at the north part of the city.
The total electric capacity of CCGT unit is 18.5 MW, thermal – 23.2 MW. Overall efficiency of combined cycle gas turbine unit is 88%.
Compression and fuel supply at the required operating pressure (1.9...2.6 MPa) in the gas turbines of the power generating unit is provided by the booster compressor station consisting of two compressor units of screw type with capacity of 3,000 m3 / h each. Supply and commissioning of the fuel gas BCS was carried out by the Russian company ENERGAS.

CCGT unit construction customer is RUE Mogilevenergo. The project was implemented by Technoserv – the largest system integrator operating in Russia, CIS and Europe.
