Booster compressor station has been commissioned at the GTPP of Konitlor field

24 May 2006

The construction of the Konitlor gas turbine power plant - one of the largest power plants of the “Surgutneftegas” company's own needs - is completed. The two power units are based on NK-16ST turbines manufactured by KMPO. The installed capacity of the station is 24 MW.

The project is one of the stages in the implementation of own energy project of OJSC “Surgutneftegas”. Until 2010, the company plans to provide more than 500 MW of its own power capacity through the construction of new gas turbine power plants.

As part of the GTPP, a booster compressor station (BCS) was put into operation – these are three gas compressor units of hangar (intra-shop) type, which purify and compress associated petroleum gas to the working pressure of 2.6 MPa for subsequent feeding to turbines of power units.

The high prefabrication level of the equipment at delivery allowed to reduce the terms of works to a minimum. BCS (pictured below) will operate as part of the oil and gas production facility in continuous operation mode.

The new GTPP-24 MW is the second stage of the construction of the power facilities of the field. In 2001, the first gas turbine power plant operating in associated petroleum gas was put into operation here. Its capacity was also 24 MW (6 power generating units of 4 MW).

REFERENCE. The Konitlor oil field is the northernmost area of the Komsomolskneft Oil and Gas Production Departments, which is part of OJSC Surgutneftegas. The field, opened in 1980, got its name from Lake Konitlor, which is located in the Surgut region of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area. In terms of reserves, the field is classified as large, and in terms of oil production it is among the leaders of Surgutneftegas.
