At GTPP-24 of Muryaun field of "Surgutneftegas" there is commissioned a booster compressor station of the company ENERGAS
8 December 2006
The construction of a gas turbine power plant of Muryaun field with an installed capacity of 24 MW is completed. GTPP was created on the basis of gas turbine engines NK-16ST ("KMPO") with capacity of 12 MW, which are part of two power units supplied by OJSC "Sumy NPO. M. V. Frunze". As fuel, associated petroleum gas will be used.

GTPP-24 MW is the second stage of construction of the field power facilities. In 2001, an auxiliaries power plant with capacity of 19.5 MW was put into operation here. The project is one of the stages of the implementation of the gas-and-power program of OJSC "Surgutneftegas". Until 2010, the company plans to provide more than 500 MW of its own power capacity through the construction of new GTPPs.
As part of the GTPP, a booster compressor station (BCS) was put into operation – these are three gas compressor units of hangar (intra-shop) type. BCS is designed for purification and compressing APG coming from the gas gathering unit and feeding it under operating pressure to turbines of power units.
Pre-start preparation of the units was performed by ENERGAS specialists.
Earlier, similar BCSs were commissioned at the gas turbine power plants of Konitlor and West-Kamynskoye fields. In the current year, a compressor station at the GTPP of another field of Surgutneftegas, Yukiaun, is prepared to launch.
REFERENCE. The Muryaun oil field is located in the Surgut region of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area and belongs to the Tyan group. Until 2000, it was part of the Tyan field, discovered in 1985, and then it was separated as an independent production field.
The development is carried out by Nizhnesortymskneft OGPD, the northernmost Oil and Gas Production Department of OJSC Surgutneftegas. The peculiarities of the enterprise include oil production in difficult, unique conditions of the marshland. Today OGPD develops about a third of all Surgutneftegas fields. The main part of the reserves is low-permeability oil deposits.
