The compressor station (CS) has been operating at the site of the booster pump station (BPS) of the Ai-Pim field since March 10, 2011. Operation mode of the CS as part of the facility of oil and gas production complex is nonstop with scheduled shutdowns for maintenance.

The CS is designed for final purification and compressing of low-pressure (0.2 MPa) associated petroleum gas and ensures its injection under pressure of 1.2 MPa into the transport gas pipeline to the CS of Lyantor field.

The uninterrupted operation of station is guaranteed primarily by the reliability of main equipment which consists of four compressor units (3 in operation, 1 in the hot-standby).



The units (CUs), supplied and commissioned by ENERGAS Company, are made based on screw oil-filled compressors. The unit capacity of the CU amounts to 12,000 m3 / h; gas flow is controlled by a special two-level regulation system.

The additional treatment of associated gas (two-step removal of liquid fraction and solid particles) at the inlet to each compressor is carried out by highly efficient coalescing filters-scrubbers equipped with automatic drainage system.

After completion of the compression process, the next stage of gas treatment for transportation is carried out – cooling to the calculated values set by the design requirements. Gas is cooled at delivery line of the CU - in shell-and-tube heat exchangers with an integrated separator and a condensate collector. As a result, the dew point temperature of associated gas is decreased and condensation during APG transportation is excluded.

Process units are placed in their own enclosures of arctic type, are fully automated, and equipped with life support systems (heating, ventilation, and lighting) and safety systems (fire detection and fire extinguishing, gas detection, alarm).



The CS at BPS of the Ai-Pim field is one of the "small" compressor stations of the Intra-field Petroleum Gas Gathering and Using Division (UVSING) of Surgutneftegas PJSC. Its launch was part of the company's special program of activities.

Most of these "small" CS are used for offtake of associated gas from the end stages of oil separation, that allows reach the maximum level of the rational use of APG. For this important benchmark, Surgutneftegas has been deservedly leading among Russia's largest extraction companies for a number of years.

REFERENCE:

The Ai-Pim oil field was put into production in 1993, but was soon suspended due to low production results. However, the second oil-bearing stratum, located below the first at a depth of 3 thousand meters and turned out to be very productive, was later explored. Due to geological features, a complex field development system was introduced here.

The development is carried out by Nizhnesortymskneft OGPD, the northernmost Oil and Gas Production Department of PJSC Surgutneftegas. The peculiarities of the enterprise include oil production in difficult, unique conditions of the marshland. Today OGPD develops about a third of all Surgutneftegas fields. The main part of the reserves is low-permeability oil deposits.
