LUKOIL will increase the capacity of the gas turbine power plant at the East-Perevalnoye field

9 March 2022

The auxiliary gas turbine power plant operates at the East-Perevalnoye field of Kogalymneftegaz TPE (LUKOIL-West Siberia). This year, it is planned to increase its capacity from 28 to 34 MW due to the new Ural-6000 power unit, which will be supplied and put into operation by UEC-Aviadvigatel.

At present, GTPP-28 consists of four Ural-6000 power units with an electric capacity of 6 MW each created on the basis of the GTU-6P gas turbine units and starting Ural-4000 power unit (4 MW) based on GTU-4P. The generating equipment was devised and manufactured by the Perm engine-builders: the companies UEC-Aviadvigatel and UEC-Perm Motors.

The structure of the power plant includes a starting compressor unit from ENERGAS, designed to supply fuel to the Ural-4000 power unit. The unit with a productivity of 2,000 m3 / h carries out final treatment, compression and supply of associated petroleum gas to the turbine at a pressure of 1.6 ... 1.8 MPa.

The East-Perevalnoye oil and gas field is located in the north of the Surgut region of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area. It is the most distant field of the Kogalymneftegaz TPE, from Kogalym to it more than six hundred kilometers. Compared with other license areas of the enterprise, this field is young (it was discovered in 1990 and put into operation in 1995).

The gas turbine power plant has been operating here since February 2018. GTPP simultaneously ensures the energy autonomy of the field and rational utilization of associated gas. The amount of APG usage as a fuel for the turbines is about 65 million cubic meters annually.
