GTPP-24 of North-Labatyugan field is equipped with booster compressor station

4 April 2007

The construction of a gas turbine power plant at the North-Labatyugan field is one of the stages in the implementation of the energy project of OJSC Surgutneftegas. Until 2010, the company plans to provide more than 500 MW of its own power capacity through the construction of new GTPPs.

The North-Labatyugan GTPP is one of the largest PPs for own needs of Surgutneftegas. The two power units are based on NK-16ST turbines manufactured by KMPO.

The installed electric capacity of the plant is 24 MW. As fuel, associated petroleum gas produced at the field is used.

As part of the GTPP-24, a booster compressor station (BCS) was put into operation – these are three gas compressor units of hangar (intra-shop) type, which purify and compress associated gas up to 2.6 MPa for its subsequent feeding to the turbines of power units.

A high prefabrication level of the equipment at delivery allowed to reduce terms of prelaunch works to a minimum. BCS (in the photo below) operates as part of the oil and gas production complex in a continuous mode.

REFERENCE. The North-Labatyugan oil field is located in the Surgut region of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area. Opened in 2000, put into operation in 2004.

The development is carried out by Nizhnesortymskneft OGPD, the northernmost Oil and Gas Production Department of OJSC Surgutneftegas. The peculiarities of the enterprise include oil production in difficult, unique conditions of the marshland. Today OGPD develops about a third of all Surgutneftegas fields. The main part of the reserves is low-permeability oil deposits.
