For 10 years, a unique unit from ENERGAS provides backup gas supply to GTPP-1 of the Rogozhnikovskoye field

25 December 2019

In December 2009, a unique booster compressor unit (BCU) from ENERGAS was included in structure of the gas turbine power plant No. 1 (GTPP-1) of the Rogozhnikovskoye field of Surgutneftegas PJSC. The drive of the gas compressor, in contrast to the traditionally used electric motors, is a diesel engine.

The unit is made in arctic version, and all the main systems (process systems, life support and safety) are mounted inside own enclosure of BCU.

The emergency BCU is designed to restore the operation of the GTPP in the absence of power, what significantly improves the resiliency and reliability of the power plant, as well as reduces the costs associated with downtime of generating equipment.

In Russia, this is the first unit of this type. It was developed according to the individual requirements of the Surgutneftegas and takes into account the features of operation in severe climatic conditions.

GTPP-1 of the Rogozhnikovskoye field was put into operation in late 2008. As a part of power plant there are operating three power generating units based on NK-16ST gas turbine engines with a rated capacity of 16 MW each (manufactured by KMPO) with turbo-generators with a capacity of 12 MW (Electrotyazhmash-Privod).

The power generating units were manufactured by specialists of Sumy NPO named after M.V. Frunze. The installed capacity of the GTPP is 36 MW. The fuel used is associated petroleum gas produced at the field.

This is the first facility of the own generating of Surgutneftegas PJSC in the territory of this deposit. GTPP-1 remains one of the largest auxiliary power plants of the company to this day.

Feeding fuel gas to the turbines is carried out by a main compressor station consisting of three booster compressor units of hangar (intrashop) type. The BCUs with capacity of 5,000 m3 / h each are used for additional purification and compression of associated gas of middle pressure coming from the Central Production Facility. The supply and commissioning of this equipment were also provided by ENERGAS Company.

REFERENCE. The Rogozhnikovskoye field is located in the Oktyabrsky district of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area. It is in operation since 2005. The development is carried out by the Bystrinskneft Oil and Gas Production Department of Surgutneftegas PJSC. The main difficulty for oilmen is the distance of the oilfield from the city of Surgut to a distance of almost 400 kilometers, as well as difficult geological and climatic conditions.
