The GTPP No. 2 at the Rogozhnikovskoye field celebrated 10 years of effective operation

11 December 2020

The gas turbine power plant No. 2 of the Rogozhnikovskoye oil field passed 10-years milestone of operation. This is the second facility of the own generating of Surgutneftegas PJSC in the territory of this deposit. GTPP-2 with a capacity of 36 MW remains one of the largest power plants of the company's own needs to this day.

The launch of the new power plant, in combination with the capacities of the GTPP No. 1 (also 36 MW), built in 2008, allowed to fully providing electricity for the infrastructural and producing facilities of field.

Both GTPPs use associated petroleum gas as a fuel. Thus, the generating of own power is combined here with the rational recovery of APG.

The GTPP-2 includes three power generating units based on NK-16ST gas turbine engines with a rated capacity of 16 MW each (manufactured by KMPO) with ТS-12R turbo-generators with a capacity of 12 MW (Electrotyazhmash-Privod). The power generating units were manufactured by specialists of OJSC Sumy NPO named after M.V. Frunze. APCS was supplied by GE Fanuk in cooperation with Sumy NPO.

A hangar-type compressor station consisting of three booster compressor units (BCU) provides fuel supply to the turbines. BCUs with capacity of 10,000 m3 / h compress (from 0.3 to 3.5 MPa) associated petroleum gas of medium pressure coming from the Central Production Facility.

The units are equipped with two-level capacity control systems, individual ACS, as well as a group system of automated control and monitoring integrated into the GTPP APCS. The operating mode of the BCU as a part of the object is continuous, with scheduled stops for maintenance.

Final gas purification at the inlet to each compressor is provided by highly efficient separators – two-stage filters-scrubbers with automatic drainage system. It is possible to quickly replace filter elements.

Compressor units also maintain the design temperature of fuel feeding to the combustion chambers of turbines. In accordance with the project, BCUs are located in separate capital building, complete with life support and safety systems.

The supply and the whole set of works on commissioning of this equipment were provided by ENERGAS.

REFERENCE:

The Rogozhnikovskoye field is located in the Oktyabrsky district of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area. It is in operation since 2005. The development is carried out by the Bystrinskneft Oil and Gas Production Department of Surgutneftegas PJSC. The main difficulty for oilmen is the distance of the oilfield from the city of Surgut to a distance of almost 400 kilometers, as well as difficult geological and climatic conditions.
