In structure of power supply complex of Barsukovskoye field there is commissioned facility for associated gas treatment as a fuel

Barsukovskoye field, located in the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Area, is developed by LLC RN-Purneftegaz (Rosneft). Autonomous power supply complex built by Alliance Generation supplies electricity to infrastructure and process facilities of the field.

Auxiliaries power supply complex consists of 10 Cummins gas-reciprocating units (GRU) of type C1540 N5C made based on QSV91G engine of Cummins and generator of Stamford. At present, seven GRUs with a capacity of 1.5 MW are in operation, three more are installed on the workplace and are being prepared for adjustment. The fuel is associated petroleum gas produced at the field.



After successful completion of 72-hour integrated tests here there was took place start of the ENERGAS fuel gas treatment facility. The FGTF provides the design parameters of associated gas (in terms of purity, temperature, pressure and flow) before its feeding to power generating units.

FGTF is multifunctional complex, which comprises the following process equipment:

- Gas filtration system with two-stage coalescent filters, purification rate is 100% for the liquid fraction and 99.9% for solid particles larger than 2 microns;
- Condensate drainage module with 10 m3 underground tank;
- Gas metering subassembly with ultrasonic flow meters;
- Gas preheating module based on a shell-and-tube heat exchanger;
- Bilinear reduction system;
- Packaged boiler room for the treatment of the heat carrier, including two boilers with a total thermal capacity of 0.19 MW.



Fuel gas treatment facility is equipped with necessary engineering systems, including life support systems (heating, ventilation and lighting) and safety (fire detection, gas detection, alarm and fire fighting).

Multifunctional complex is fully automated. The automated control systems implement launch (and preparation for start), shutdown, and maintaining the optimal operation mode; they control the process parameters; they provide automatic protection and alarm system; they handle the parameters of the workflow and emergency events with the issuance of information via a standard exchange protocol.

The local ACS is placed in a special compartment separated from the FGTF process part by gas-tight fire-resistant partition. ACS is integrated with the upper level of APCS of the power supply complex and it provides remote equipment control, indoor gas hazard monitoring, output of status information for all elements and systems to the operator panel.



Gas pressure at the FGTF inlet is 0.5...0.8 MPa, at the outlet is 0.3 MPa. The rated capacity of the unit is 5,000 m3 / h. Coefficient of operational reliability is 0.99. Assigned resource (lifetime) is 30 years.

The whole cycle of pre-start works and testing has been performed by the specialists of ServicENERGAS (part of ENERGAS Group).

REFERENCE. LLC RN-Purneftegaz is developing oil and gas fields in the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Area. Production Association Purneftegaz was founded in 1986 to develop a group of fields in the circumpolar zone of the YNAA. In 1995, the company became part of the Rosneft Oil Company. The reserves of Purneftegaz are highly concentrated, more than 70% of oil and gas condensate reserves are concentrated in four fields – Komsomolskoye, Kharampurskoye, Tarasovskoye and Barsukovskoye.
