The first project of the ENERGAS Group in the Yakutia was 10 years old!

10 August 2019

In August 2009, a booster compressor station (BCS) of fuel gas began its work at the gas turbine power plant of Talakan field of the Surgutneftegas PJSC. Thus, the first project of ENERGAS Group in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) was completed.

As fuel for GTPP it is used associated petroleum gas produced at the field. BCS of hangar (intrashop) type, consisting of six compressor units (CU) with a unit capacity of 9,000 m3 / h, performs treatment and feeding of APG to the turbines. In accordance with the project, CUs are located in two separate capital buildings, complete with life support and safety systems.

The units are equipped with two-level capacity control systems, individual ACS, as well as a group system of automated control and monitoring integrated into the GTPP APCS. The operating mode of the CU as a part of the oil and gas production facility is continuous, with scheduled stops for maintenance.

Final gas purification at the inlet to each compressor is provided by highly efficient separators – two-stage filters-scrubbers with automatic drainage system. It is possible to quickly replace filter elements.

Compressor units compress gas from 0.4 MPa to the required working pressure of 2.8 MPa; they also maintain the design temperature of fuel feeding to the combustion chambers of turbines.

The careful designing and high-quality production of the equipment allow the BCS of the company ENERGAS to operate to this day with a high level of reliability and efficiency.

Talakan GTPP provides power to the production and infrastructure facilities of the fields of PJSC Surgutneftegas in the Yakutia, as well as the oil pumping stations of the main oil pipeline ESPO.

The simple cycle power plant, designed by the SurgutNIPIneft Institute, was built in two stages. The first stage has included two launch complexes with total electrical capacity of 96 MW. Another 48 MW was added by the third complex, a second stage of construction. In total, the GTPP comprises nine 16 MW power generating units produced by OJSC Sumy NPO named after Frunze.

The power generating units are made on the basis of NK-16ST gas turbine engines (JSC KMPO). The total installed capacity of the power plant is 144 MW; this is the largest auxiliaries GTPP of Surgutneftegas.

REFERENCE. Talakan is a large oil and gas condensate field located in the south-west of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) in the middle reaches of the Lena River, 300 km from the city of Kirensk (Irkutsk Region).

In December 2003, OJSC Surgutneftegas received a license for exploration and development of the Talakan field for a period of 20 years. In February 2005, the first oil rig was built. By 2008, 48 wells were drilled.

Prior to the commissioning of the new GTPP, the field facilities were provided with electricity from a gas reciprocating power plant with a capacity of 12 MW, launched in early 2007.
