GTPP-24 of Verkhnekolik-Egan field is being equipped with fuel gas compression facility of the company ENERGAS

At Verkhnekolik-Egan field of Varieganneftegaz PJSC (Rosneft) there is being constructed a gas turbine power plant with installed capacity of 24 MW. Designing of GTPP-24 was carried out by Ural Energy Engineering Center. Construction is performed by the ZVEZDA-ENERGETIKA JSC.

As part of the power plant there are five gas turbine units Centrax of type CX501-KB7 with unit capacity of 5.2 MW. These GTU have been selected because of their operational versatility and ability to work on gas with variable composition. As fuel will be used associated petroleum gas produced at the field.

Purification, compression and supply of APG to the gas turbine units under operating pressure of 2.5 MPa will be provided by fuel gas compression facility (FGCF) of the company ENERGAS. FGCF is placed in a separate premise equipped with necessary life support and safety systems, and it consists of the compressor module and gas treatment system.

Gas treatment system comprises four high-performance coalescing filters-separators, equipped with an automatic drainage system. There is provided possibility of quick replacement of filtering elements (cartridges). The degree of purification of gas supplied to the turbine is 100% for solids and condensed moisture of size larger than 10 microns.

Compressor module consists of four screw compressor units (CU), two of which will operate in a continuous mode, two more – in "hot" standby. Capacity of each CU is 5,000 m3 / h.



Units are equipped with two-level systems of capacity control (bypass line and spool regulation), individual ACS, and group-technology cell of automated control system, integrated into APCS of the power plant.

Each CU is additionally equipped with viscometer, flow meter for the process metering of gas as well as with system for oxygen detection in gas flow.

FGCF structure also comprises a dew-point measurement system as well as soft-starter of main motors of the compressor units.

Process equipment of FGCF supplied by ENERGAS meets the increased requirements of reliability, operability and maintainability that are set by the customer taking into account the severe climatic conditions and the remoteness of the field.

Planned annual amount of compressed associated gas to supply the fuel to gas turbines of GTPP is about 85 million cubic meters. Specified life (lifetime) of FGCF is 20 years.

Currently, erection works are being carried out. There has been constructed corps building of FGCF; carried out the installation, alignment and fixing on the foundations of the compressor units; there are mounted air coolers of CU.



The phased commissioning of the fuel gas compression facility, including start-up, individual testing, functional check of FGCF during comprehensive tests of gas turbine power plant, as well as training of operating personnel will be performed by ServicENERGAS LLC (companies group ENERGAS).

REFERENCE. Verkhnekolik-Egan field was discovered in 1986; commercial operation started in 1990. The field provides the bulk of the production of Varieganneftegaz PJSC. Prospects for the development of the field are associated with the start-up of new wells on the basis of exploratory definition drilling and active geological and technical works.
