The GTPP-1 at the Rogozhnikovskoye fields of Surgutneftegas celebrated 10 years of effective operation

1 January 2019

The gas turbine power plant No. 1 of the Rogozhnikovskoye oil field passed 10-years milestone of effective operation. This is the first facility of the own generating of Surgutneftegas PJSC in the territory of this deposit. GTPP-1 with a capacity of 36 MW remains one of the largest power plants of the company's own needs to this day.

The power plant uses associated petroleum gas as a fuel. Thus, the provision of energy for the field infrastructure is combined with the recovery of APG.

The GTPP-1 includes three power generating units based on NK-16ST gas turbine engines with a rated capacity of 16 MW each (manufactured by KMPO) with turbo-generators with a capacity of 12 MW (Electrotyazhmash-Privod). The power generating units were manufactured by specialists of OJSC Sumy NPO named after M.V. Frunze.

A significant contribution to the efficiency of GTPP operation is made by the fuel gas booster compressor station (BCS) of ENERGAS. Three units of hangar type compress associated petroleum gas of medium pressure (from 0.4 to 2.8 MPa) coming from the Central Production Facility.

The aggregates are equipped with two-level capacity control systems, individual ACS, as well as a group system of automated control and monitoring integrated into the GTPP APCS. The operating mode of the BCS as a part of the object is continuous, with scheduled stops for maintenance.

The post-treatment of APG at the inlet to each compressor is carried out by highly efficient coalescing filters-scrubbers equipped with automatic condensate drainage system. The process scheme of the BCS also provides for a stable maintenance of the design gas feeding temperature into turbines.

The unit capacity of the compressor units is 5,000 m3 / h. In accordance with the project, they are located in separate capital building, complete with life support and safety systems.

The structure of gas turbine power plant No. 1 comprises another one aggregate of the company ENERGAS, an emergency compressor unit (CU). The drive of the gas compressor, in contrast to the traditionally used electric motors, is a diesel engine.

In Russia, this is the first CU of this type. The unit is used to restore the operation of the GTPP in the absence of power, what significantly improves the resiliency and reliability of the power plant, as well as reduces the costs associated with downtime of generating equipment.

Unique CU was developed according to the individual requirements of the Surgutneftegas and takes into account the features of operation in extreme climatic conditions.

The whole range of works on commissioning of main and emergency compressor equipment was performed by service engineers of ENERGAS.

The equipment of the ENERGAS Group reliably operates as part of 13 power facilities at the fields of Surgutneftegas. In total, in the oil and gas industry, gas supply of turbines at 21 fields’ power supply complexes is provided by 73 process units of ENERGAS.

REFERENCE. Rogozhnikovskaya GTPP No. 2 has been operating since the end of 2010. The installed electric capacity is also 36 MW. The launch of the new power plant, in combination with the generating capacities of the previously constructed GTPP-1, allowed to fully providing electricity for the infrastructural and producing facilities.

The Rogozhnikovskoye field is located in the Oktyabrsky district of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area. It is in operation since 2005. The development is carried out by the Bystrinskneft Oil and Gas Production Department of Surgutneftegas PJSC. The main difficulty for oilmen is the distance of the oilfield from the city of Surgut to a distance of almost 400 kilometers, as well as difficult geological and climatic conditions.
